Opening Hours

In Northern Cyprus are different business hours in summer and winter. North Cyprus post offices, banks etc. are open from Monday to Friday (except public holidays) in summer: Monday: 07:30-14:00 and 15:30-18:00
Tuesday-Friday: 07:30-14:00.
In winter: Monday-Friday, 08:00-13:00 and 14:00-17:00.

Passport and visa in TRNC

Northern Cyprus is encouraging a policy of attracting foreigners to come and live and work. The citizens of European Union nations, Turkey, USA, Canada, Mexico, Malta, Japan, Switzerland, Norway, Israel, Pakistan, Azerbaijan, Australia and New Zealand do not require visa. For further information about North Cyprus and regarding visa requirements, please contact the nearest North Cyprus Embassy or Representative Office abroad. When you arrive in North Cyprus, you are issued with a 3 month tourist visa. After that you must apply for a residence permit. Temporary residency permits are issued from the local North Cyprus police station. This is a simple procedure involving the completion of a form and supply four passport sized photographs. This permit is renewed annually. A Full residency permit will not be issued until the person has lived in Northern Cyprus for five years.

North Cyprus Postal System

The outgoing postal system in Northern Cyprus is reliable. Incoming mail must be suffixed “Mersin-10, Turkey” and not “Northern Cyprus”. The history of the postal service in Northern Cyprus will definitely be of interest to all philatelists.

Standard U.K. three pin plugs are widely used in all hotels and houses located in Northern Cyprus and the voltage is 220/240 volts.
