There is no shortage of short-term rental properties in North Cyprus, though short-term rents are always higher, particularly in popular holiday areas where many properties are bought specifically to let as self-catering holiday accommodation. As a guide, if the rent for a property on a long term basis (6 to 12 months) is £400 a month, then the same property will rent for £400 a week on a short term or holiday let. Apartments in Northern Cyprus will appeal to buyers looking for a low cost rental investment or those seeking their first foot-hold on the international property market. Prices for apartments in North Cyprus will depend upon the area, proximity to local amenities and beaches, quality and design (penthouse, duplex, etc). Apartments in the Kyrenia district along the North coast start from as little as £25,000 for a 1 bedroom apartment going up to over £100,000 for some of the most luxurious penthouses. The average prices within Kyrenia Town itself for a standard sized 3 bedroom apartment (110m²) are from £55,000 to £65,000 with similarly priced apartments available to the East and West of Kyrenia including communal swimming pools.
